Tim is a partner in Gearty & McIntyre, LLP, CPA, which he started in 1981. The firm has developed a reputation as a specialist in business advisory services, tax planning, accounting, real estate, litigation support, and forensic accounting. Tim is a nationally recognized expert and speaker on a variety of accounting, tax, audit and business topics.  

Many fortune 500 companies as well as many national associations regularly feature Tim as their keynote speaker. Tim has frequently been called upon over the past thirty-five years to present tax, real estate, accounting, auditing and business planning topics to large groups, organizations, corporations, accounting firms and in legal proceedings. 

Tim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the New Jersey Society of Public Accountants and has been a trustee of the organization. He was awarded the “Ovation” Award in 2024. Tim is also a member of the New Jersey and American Bar Associations. Tim holds a BS in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University where he was inducted into their Hall of Fame, and both an MBA in Finance and a Law Degree (JD) from Seton Hall University
